BEAR* was originally going to be named, BEAR 2.As well as having the description stating, "soon my friend." Before BEAR* was released, BEAR* was originally titled, The 2nd Game. After the Halloween update finished, on a later update the game would scale you to the default height. But when the Halloween 2020 event came and past, the Lobby was left a blueish and greenish color style and the B.O.B. Also, in early stages of the game, your Roblox avatar scaling can be whatever you want instead of the game scaling you, and as a side note in the tunnel way there wasn't any B.O.B. There was no Obby in the Lobby, so there was no way to get Quidz while waiting for the next round. In early Alpha, the Lobby was brownish and yellow coloring instead of a blueish and greenish coloring that is shown today. The Alpha Version of BEAR* is the version that was first released to the public. Then on September 20th, 2020, BEAR* was released to the public. Then near BEAR*'s release, BEAR (Alpha) received a small update showing a countdown for BEAR* in the Lobby.

Then later on, Cheedaman stated that BEAR* will release on September 20th, 2020. Cheedaman, the creator of Bear stated that BEAR* or known as at that time BEAR 2 was said to release on April 2020, but however BEAR* was delayed due to Manny stealing assets from the game. The Early Stages of BEAR* started on March 16, 2020. The map with the most votes will be selected to take place in the upcoming round.
